CPH Internship Week #7: Of Blogs and Busy-ness
Oh what a week it was! After taking the week of July 4th off to visit home, it was decidedly more difficult to get back in the swing of things at CPH, but it was a great week nonetheless!
In terms of what I was working on day to day, most of this week was spent writing a few blog posts for the CPH VBS website. I got to collaborate on these posts with my fellow intern, Adele, which made it an even cooler project. Our first post is already up, if you would like to check it out! I'll put a link at the bottom of this post.
We've also been working on creating PowerPoints, PDFs, and other documents that will be a part of next year's VBS, Miraculous Mission. It has been so amazing to work on this VBS and know that churches all across the country will use it next year, including my home church! It is going to be a fantastic way to share Christ's love with kids, and I'm a part of it! I just really love this job.
Most of the excitement this week came in the form of activities outside of work. I was barely home this week! This week I saw Ant-Man and the Wasp; went to the Muny again and saw Jersey Boys starring Mark Ballas; had pad thai for the first time; sampled food trucks; went to my first Cardinals game (they lost!); and went to the City Museum! Let's just say I was very thankful for caffeine this week.
It's mind-boggling to me that I only have two weeks left in St. Louis. I have had so much fun so far, both at CPH and in the city in general. I've learned new skills, eaten new foods, met wonderful people, and made unforgettable memories. I'm hoping these last two weeks pack in even more adventures! Still to come at CPH, we have our intern presentations, in which we present to our supervisors about our experience at CPH, as well as preparations for the CU Partners conference. This event is really cool in that CPH hosts professors and staff members from all of the Concordia Universities and other colleges and gives them an opportunity to learn about the materials that CPH is working on, as well as giving their own ideas, feedback, and potential needs.
And though I've loved living in STL for the summer, and I'm going to miss it, I am very excited to start my senior year at CUNE! I know it's going to be a great year, and I can't wait to see where God leads me next.
